The Indian duo, ranked second in the world, staged a remarkable comeback against the world champions, the Korean pair of Seo Seung Jae and Kang Min Hyuk, securing victory in straight games with a scoreline of 21-18, 22-20.
Satwik and Chirag showcased their prowess by saving six game points during a crucial eight-point burst in the second game, sealing the win in a thrilling encounter.
This victory propels them into the final, where they stand a chance to secure their second Super 1000 title, having previously triumphed at the Indonesian Open in June the previous year.
The Indian pair holds a 3-1 head-to-head record against the world no. 3 Korean duo, including a victory in the semifinals last June.
The match featured short and snappy rallies, with Satwik and Chirag demonstrating superior anticipation and execution. Despite a challenging second game where they were initially down, the Indians’ resilience and tactical play ultimately earned them a well-deserved spot in the final.
Satwik and Chirag has been the most successful Indian players in the circuit last year, having won the Asian Games gold, titles in Asian Championship, Indonesian Super 1000, Korea Super 500 and Swiss Open Super 300.
They also reached the finals of China Masters Super 750 in November last year.
